Raymond Balderrama Sr., 87, went to be with the lord Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in Alamogordo with his family close by his side. He was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Cloudcroft to Ciriaco Balderrama Sr. and Soledad F. Casteau Balderrama.

Growing up and spending many an hour watching his father work in the sawmill, he became quite a woodsman himself and thoroughly enjoyed chopping wood. He also loved horses and was a skilled horseshoer.
Raymond made his home in Alamogordo. In 1950, he worked for the REA in Cloudcroft before he transferred to Holloman Air Force Base as a lineman. He retired a few years ago. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; daughter Lupita; son Jimmy; and brother Cruz Tito.
He is survived by spouse, Isabele, of the family home; sons of the first marriage, Raymond Jr. and Frankie Sr., both of Tularosa; stepchildren Susan Allen and Gilbert Allen, both of Alamogordo; his brothers Nacho and Johnny; his sisters Carmen Estrada, of Alamogordo, Annie Valdez, of Tularosa, and Angie Gallagos, of Alamogordo; his grandchildren Rebecca Terrazas, of Alamogordo, Crystal Allen and her dad, John Nowell, of Oklahoma; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was greatly loved by his stepgrandchildren and children. Raymond was well known as a great-hearted man with many friends. He will be greatly missed by all. His final resting place will be in Three Rivers.
