Thomas E. Carr, 81, passed peacefully from this life Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, in Alamogordo. He was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Portsmouth, Va., to James and Fannie Carr.

Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Norma Arlene Carr, of the family home. He is also survived by his son John E. Carr and special friend, Julie Houser, both of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his sister-in-law Ruth (DH) Brewster, of Texas; sister-in-law Laverne Willingham, of Texas; brother-in-law Marlin Johnston, of Texas; and a sister Ernestine Gentile, of North Carolina. Thomas is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends from medical caregivers over his lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law John E. Willingham, sister-in-law Naomi Johnston, his parents and sister Peggy Boswell.
He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Sacramento Lodge #24 A.F. and A.M for almost 50 years. He worked as an Electronics Technician at Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range for many years. He enjoyed the hobby and business of watch and jewelry making.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home with Rev. Bart Montgomery officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery with Sacramento Lodge #24, A.F. and A.M. officiating and Military Honors provided by Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be the Sacramento Lodge #24, A.F. and A.M.
