William D. Wilson
Jan. 30, 1938 – Sept. 28, 2013
William D. Wilson was born on Jan. 30, 1938, to Allen and Bertrude Wilson in Columbus, Indiana. He passed away on Sept. 28, 2013, in Alamogordo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Francis Wilson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in September 1976 at Holloman Air Force Base. He was also retired from Civil Service at Holloman spending many years at the High Speed Test Track.
He devoted many years of service to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past Commander of Post 7686 V.F.W, District 3, and past State Commander V.F.W., of New Mexico. He was also past Commander of Apollo Pup Tent #20, Military Order of the Cootie, and past State Commander of the Grand of N.M. M.O.C.
He was a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas, Palo Duro #1239, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Miami, Fla., Ballut Abyad Shriners, of Albuquerque and the Rocket Shrine Club, of Alamogordo.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruby I. Wilson, four step-children Janice Deslongchamps, Anita Keith, John and Greg Godwin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one brother Edgar Wilson and nieces Jenny Rios and Lori Wolf.
Memorial Service will be held at V.F.W Post 7686 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.
Cremation has taken place and Interment at Ft. Bliss Cemetery, El Paso.
