Frank Dolce, 64, grew up in New York, but has lived in Alamogordo since 1988. He suffered from a rare type of cancer that took his life on April 9, 2014.
He was born to Frank and Lucy Dolce on Sept. 18, 1949. Frank went to school in Brooklyn, where he met his true love, Susan, in 1970. They married on Aug. 8 and were married for 43 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father.
He served for 24 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and going to the movies; but most of all, he loved helping out the Boy Scouts. He was best known for his sense of humor, his positive outlook on life, his kindness, his strength and courage in the face of life's challenges, and his big heart.
Frank is survived by his wife Susan; his daughters Gina and her husband Mike and Phyllis and her boyfriend Ray; four grandchildren, Michael, Brittney, Damon, Jordan and his sister Ann Marie, her husband Rocky and niece Christy.
Frank's family would like to thank their family and friends for their continued support, kindness and prayers during this time, his primary care physician, Dr. Shawna Paylor and the staffs at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Presbyterian Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday April 26 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Mike Lindsey officiating. Inurnment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
There will be a reception following the service at Aerie 4101 Fraternal Order of Eagles.
The Dolce family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS. To sign the online register book, please visit www.alamogordofuneralhome.org
