Olivia Walters, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, in Alamogordo.
She was born on June 23, 1936, in Tularosa, the daughter of Modesto and Soledad Castillo Lopez. Mrs. Walters has lived in Alamogordo for the past 53 years. She was a homemaker who raised five children. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed visits from family, her theme parties, and she loved to dance.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald and his wife Roberta of Colorado and David Walters and his wife Michelle of Albuquerque; three daughters, Mary Jo Carter and husband Ron, Lori Romero and her husband Raymond, and Debbie Walters Esquero and her husband Richard, all of Alamogordo; six sisters and three brothers as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Victor Walters and three beloved sisters.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Toni Guiterrez.
Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m., with Father Mike Lindsay, celebrant. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Alamogordo Funeral Home
