Rita J. Danley, age 67, passed away suddenly at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Saturday, August 16, 2014, of cancer.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1946 in Phoenix, Ariz., to Percy W. Hodges and Doris A. Ashton. She married her long-time husband Fred I. Danley on Sept. 10, 1964.
She is survived by her husband Fred Danley and her two children; Destre Danley-Burks (Stoney) and Dusten Danley, five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brothers Walter Hodges (Sue), Dale Hodges (Donna), Wayland Hodges (Pat), and sisters Darla Niemi (Barry), Dayna Turner (Rick), along with and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Thursday August 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Ruidoso Downs Race Track. A reception will follow for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that friends donate to the memorial fund in Rita's name. The memorial fund has been established in her name at UNMH Cancer Center.
