Paul A. Robertson went to be with our Lord on August 9, 2014. Paul was born to Gentry E. and Olive Buckner Robertson in Alamogordo on Jan. 30, 1940.
He went to work at the Holloman Air Force Base Post Office when he was 17 years old. He took time out to serve his country in the United States Army after which he returned to the post office. He retired as Postmaster of the HAFB office in 1992 after serving for 35 years. He spent his retirement years fishing, hunting, camping and traveling in his RV, as well as woodworking and restoring his old pickup truck.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars #7686, American Legion Post #0014, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie #4308 in Arrey and a life member of Alamogordo Elks #1897.
Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann; two daughters, Suzanne Dunmire and her husband Bill and a granddaughter Amber of Dover, Del., and Barbara Robertson and her husband Bill and grandchildren, Augusta and Austin, of Phoenix, Ariz., and a brother Ernest Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David Lee, a daughter Dana McNatt and a brother Robert O. Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation can be made to the ALS Association to help fight Lou Gehrig Disease.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 22, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Alamogordo.
The Robertson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation has taken place at PCS.
