The beautiful spirit of Helen Mary Flores has returned to the table of her family who went before her to make a place for her.
The Guest Book is expired.
Helen was born in Florence, Kan., on Oct. 21, 1937, to Pedro Martinez and Agnes Martinez Palacioz, and spent most of her life in Alamogordo.
Helen worked her entire adult life, beginning when she was 15 when she worked in an egg-separating factory in Wichita, Kan., and ending at Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice.
She is survived by her children Cathy, Patty and Johnny; her grandchildren Zachary, Caleb, Miguel, Adrian and Kamila; three great-grandchildren, Lola, Tinley and Jocoby; her husband, Juan Flores; and her son-in-law Kurt Austin.
Helen is also survived by her sister Jenny and two brothers, James and John. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends who are blessed to have known this wonderful person in their lives.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her lovely sisters Carmen Martinez, Simone Martinez, Lola Monarez and Virginia Mendoza; and her brother Gus Martinez.
Helen never knew a stranger and everyone who met her fell in love with her spirit and generous nature. She would want everyone who knew her to remember her with love and laughter. Her hope is that you will smile as you read of her life and take her love of people with you to your lives.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at noon Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at St. Jude Parish in Alamogordo with Father Tom Hoffman, S.J., as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Columbarium.
The Flores family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
