Wanda Jean "Jeanie" Berkler, 70, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in Alamogordo.

She was born on June 9, 1942, in Washington, D.C., to Edwin and Alice Ethington Mallory.
She moved to Alamogordo in 1972 and married Ed Berkler. Worked and co-owned Medical Arts Pharmacy for 22 years. Jeanie was a quilter and spent much of her time with her family, camping and crafting.
Jeanie was a member of Order of Eastern Star Alamo Chapter No. 11.
Survivors include her daughters, Terri Werner and husband John of Edgewood, daughter, Sheri Berry and husband Mark of La Luz, daughter, Judy Van Winkle and husband Brian of La Luz; grandchildren, Amy May, Trista Werner, Lisa Davis, Kendra Werner, Colby Van Winkle, Keegan Van Winkle and Tara Werner; great-grandchildren Hunter Stevens, Mason May, Jett Werner Cameron and brothers, Bob Mallory and wife Tamara of Lakeland, Fla., and Mick Mallory of Cherokee, Iowa, and longtime companion Ed Babitzke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Berkler; her parents and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Berry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in the Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home chapel with Chuck Moon officiating.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home.
The Berkler family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
