Dorothy Whitaker Bruner St. John, 86 died Nov. 21th 2013, at her home in Alamogordo. She was the daughter of Charley and Esther Whitaker, loving wife of Edward St. John and Owen Bruner.

She was born in Sweetwater, Okla., on Feb. 2, 1927.
She is survived by two sisters, Oleta (Joe) Ream, of Amarillo, Texas, and Faye Irwin of Lamont, Calif.; and three daughters Glenda (Ferris) Bolin, of Slidell, La., Judy (William) Belt, of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Kim (John) Riffle, of Alamogordo. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy also helped raise her son's children making them more like her own, Leon Blevins, of Santa Rosa, Kristen Blevins, of Tulsa, Okla., and Spring (Dieter) Halper, of Enid Okla., as well as two of her great-grandchildren Patrick Blevins and Crystal Blevins, both of the family home.
Dorothy worked as a butcher until her retirement in 1973. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She loved her family, fishing, camping and bowling where she was good enough to attend lots of state bowling tournaments. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A private family memorial will be held over the Thanksgiving holiday to honor her favorite holiday.
