Angus Nelson Townsend, 78, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8 2013 at Nanaimo General Hospital with his granddaughter Louise by his side. Angus was born in Quebec, the younger of 2 children.

Angus served our country in the Navy for several years. After returning from war he struggled with PTSD. Angus was a man of many words and enjoyed sharing stories and memories with his family and friends. Angus also found comfort in his religious beliefs.
Angus is survived by his sisters Holly and Melanie (Scott), children Michael, Cal, Holly (Iain), Kerry (Karen), Troy (Stacey), Cara (Kurt), grandchildren Shawntel, Jeremie, Derek (Margie), Louise (Ed), Curtis, Ken, Glen, Richard, Anthony, Alex, Andrew, Christopher, Jennifer, Cody, Austin and 10 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at NRGH who provided amazing care to Angus leading upto his passing, the staff and residents of Buttertubs Senior Citizens Housing Society and Kelvyn, Chris and many friends who supported him over the years. The family would like to extend an invitation to a celebration of life at Buttertubs Hall at 10 Buttertubs Drive on Sunday, July 14 2013 from 12-3pm. The family will be providing lunch , desserts and beverages. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society.
