SHELTON, Sally Louise 1935-2013 78, of Comox, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Sally was born in Owen Sound, Ontario on December 22, 1935, and graduated from Ryerson Technical College with a diploma in Laboratory Technology. Sally worked as a laboratory technician for many years, and finished along career at the Cumberland Health Centre. She enjoyed reading, travel (especially cruising), and glasses of wine with her family and friends. She was involved in the Comox Legion and Comox Fire Department Ladies Auxiliaries, the Soroptimist Club, and supported many charities. Sally was married to her loving husband Richard (Rick) Grant Shelton on January 27, 1956. They were married for 57 years. Sally is survived by her husband Richard Grant Shelton, her son Richard (Rick) Shelton and wife Debbie, her daughter Teresa (Tari) Shelton and partner Dave Cutler, her sister Carol Duff and husband Gordie, and granddaughters Tasha Perry, Renee Alexander and grandson Aaron Alexander. She will be missed by her furry family members Buddy and Chica. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lillian Marshall of Owen Sound, Ontario. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to (Canadian Cancer Society, St. Joseph's Hospital or the Views at St. Joseph's hospital.) The family wishes to thank Dr. Tancon, nurse Katherine, and the amazing medical and nutritional staff at St. Joseph's hospital and the Eagleview wing at the Views. Your care and compassion will not be forgotten. A memorial service for Sally will be held on Tuesday , July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Comox Valley Funeral Home at 1101 Ryan Road in Courtenay, B.C.
