Barbara Gayle Darnell, 76, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at her home in Altus. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday at the Victory Cemetery with Darrel Coffman officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.
Barbara Gayle Warren was born June 18, 1937 to Roy and Sarah (Scroggins) Warren in Olustee. She graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1956. Barbara and Lou Darnell were united in marriage on Jan. 18, 1969. Barbara was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her home; cooking; and most of all spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Jon Scott Darnell.
She is survived by her husband Lou of the home; one son, Gary Bannister and wife Kim of Flower Mound, Texas; and three grandchildren, Landon Bannister and his wife Amanda of Dallas, Marcy Bannister of Flower Mound, and Amber Darnell of Olustee; two brothers, Dwayne Warren and wife Marlene of California, and Steve Warren of Mangum; and one sister, Glenda Warren of Altus.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
Memorials may be made in honor of Barbara Darnell to the Victory Cemetery Association in care of Kincannon Funeral Home.
