Jesus M. Gloria, 76, of Altus, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 in Altus. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Paul Gloria officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Jesus was born on Aug. 12, 1937 in Acuna, Mexico to Jose Sandoval and Dominga (Martinez) Gloria. He married Janie Menchaca on Aug. 22, 1983 in Cordell. He served as a police officer for many years in Sentinel, Cordell and Burns Flat. He also worked as a security guard, private investigator and worked in conjuction with the FBI. Jesus enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jessica Garcia; a granddaughter, Sami Jo Maldonado; four brothers, Florentino, Richard, Edward and Ramon Gloria; and two sisters, Maria Vega and Josefina Lindo.
Survivors include his wife of the home; several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Gloria and wife Connie of Altus; three sisters, Rosa Trevino and husband Roberto of Altus, Linda Gloria of Mangum, and Janie Montalvo and husband Veto of Willow.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
