Kim Earl Pearson

MSG Kim Earl Pearson, USAF (ret) was born on Aug. 17, 1953 in Wood River, Ill. to Clinis and Betty (Preston) Pearson. He died peacefully in Ada on Feb. 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at The Apostolic Truth Church in Altus with Pastors Lionel Mounce and Mickey Mounce, officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service of Lawton.

Kim was raised and attended school in Missouri. He graduated from high school in 1972 and enlisted in the US Air Force. While in the military, Kim worked as an aircraft engine mechanic here in the US and abroad. Medals and commendations included the Meritorious Service Medal with first OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal with one OLC, Outstanding Unit Award Ribbon with three OLC's, Good Conduct Medal with one silver and one bronze OLC, National Defense Service Medal with bronze service star, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and the Longevity

Service Award Ribbon with four OLC's. Kim served his final tour of duty at Sheppard Air Force Base, and then moved to Altus where he was employed with the civil service at Altus AF Base. He retired there is 2009 due to health issues. While living in Altus, Kim enjoyed raising llamas and Dexter cattle, vacationing in Branson, and especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He was a hard worker devoted to his family, country and church. Mr. Pearson loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was a devoted member of the Apostolic Truth Church where he served as a greeter.

Kim was preceded in death by his father, Clinis Pearson; and brother, Tom Pearson.

Survivors include his wife Debra of the home; his mother, Betty Pearson of Ellisville, Mo.; a son, Jason Pearson and wife Juliet of Camp Pendelton, Calif.; daughter, Tabitha Holloway and husband Roger of Wichita Falls, Texas; Debra's children, Renee Olson of Altus, William Olson III and wife Nicole, both missionaries in Asia, and Bryan Olson ( currently serving in Afghanistan) and his wife Natasha of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: T.J. Holloway, Logan Holloway, Josh Pearson, Emmaly Olson, Yuna Laferr, Ashlyn Mooney and John David Smith; a brother, Jeff Pearson of California; sisters, Diane Horn and husband Gary of Antonia, Mo., Debra Ragon and husband Landis of Columbia, Mo., and Sherree Skorepa and husband Larry of Ballwin, Mo.
