John Robert Watson, 86, of Altus, was born to Sam Watson and Texie (Fike) Watson on April 16, 1928 in Altus, and departed this life June 5, 2014 in Altus.

John was a long time resident of Jackson County. He served in the U.S Air Force at the Korean Conflict, and then went on to be a carpenter. Later he married the love of his life, Beatrice Seeberger in Frederick. John enjoyed his community and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Texie Watson; wife, Beatrice Watson; a brother, Albert Watson; a sister, Arvella Bradshaw; and step-son, Richard Seeberger.

Survivors include Darrell and Shirley Norton; Kenneth and Barbara Sweatt; Dwight and Margie Watson; Pat Bradshaw Seaman; Richard Bradshaw; and many other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at the Altus Cemetery on June 9 at 10 a.m. with Darrell Norton officiating under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. Please view and sign the online guestbook at
