Ralph Wayne Campbell, 65, of Altus, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at the Blair Cemetery with Rod Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Ralph Wayne Campbell was born May 22, 1949 in Ironton, Mo., to Elzie and Edna Ruth (Billedo) Campbell. Following high school, he continued his education and received an Associate Degree. Ralph married Lillian Hathaway May 22, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nev. He spent 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, he proudly served his country in Vietnam and Desert Storm. Ralph began working in the maintenance department, then became a Flight Engineer, and later a Flight Instructor and Flight Examiner. After retirement from the Air Force, he began working with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a correctional officer and retired as a case manager. He enjoyed tinkering around on the farm and watching old history shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James, Harold, Don and Elzie Lloyd Campbell.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Lillian, of the home; two sons, Timothy Campbell and Robert Campbell, both of Altus; one sister, Shirley Bowles and husband William of Plano, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.
Mr. Campbell will lie in state from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Kincannon Funeral Home. The Campbell family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m.
