Dr. James H. Burns, 54, of Altus, passed away Monday morning, July 14, 2014, at his residence in Altus.
Jim was born in Pasadena, Texas, on Dec. 18, 1959, to William E. and Geraldine E. (McCarty) Burns. After graduating from Jenks High School, Jim graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently he moved to Kansas City, Kan., where he attended Cleveland Chiropractic College and became a Doctor of Chiropractic, graduating Cum Laude. In 1987, Jim began his practice in Altus where he served the community for the next 27 years. On Oct. 23, 2004, he married his wife, Connie, and together they worked his clinic, Burns Chiropractic and Compliance Drug Testing. He was a baptized believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, since age 10. He embraced all Christians putting their confidence in the blood of Jesus as brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Burns.
He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Burns of Tulsa; his loving and faithful wife Connie of the home; his children, Levi Tanner Burns, Reagan Era Burns and Jessica Alexis Stollard; two brothers, David Burns and wife Jean of Mustang, and Edgar Burns and wife Vickie of Tulsa; two sisters, Molly Endley and husband Jerry of Broken Arrow, and Gail Cochenour and husband Robert of Olathe, Kan.; along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Memorial and cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory of Altus.
