Funeral services for Myrtle Max Davis, 91, of Warren, will be at the First United Methodist Church in Altus on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Player and the Rev. Shannon Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Warren Cemetery under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf. Myrtle Max Davis was born to Dora Lee "Shin" and Ada Amy (Schockler) McElroy in Union County, N.M. on Jan. 3, 1922, and departed this life in Corn on Oct. 21, 2013.

Myrtle grew up in Warren where she attended school and married J. Lee Davis on June 29, 1937 in Mangum. He passed away in 2008 after 71 years of marriage. She was a homemaker who help with all of the farming and chores that needed to be done around the farm. She was a member of the home extension club in Warren and enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting. She was a member of the Warren Mission Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Max Lee Davis and Don Ray Davis; and a sister, Opal Lee Davis.

Survivors include a son, Larry Davis and wife Judy of Altus; eight grandchildren, Annette and husband Mike Wood of Weatherford, Beverly and husband Jim of Mustang, Donna Davis of Ann Arbor, Mich., Kevin Davis and wife Kristi of Norman, Shannon Davis and wife Jan of Woodward, Nicole and husband Scott Koch of Broken Arrow, Andrea and husband Ronnie Burgess of Wichita, Kan., and Darlene and husband Nathan Alley of Social Circle, Ga.; five siblings, Cecil Pearl Gardner of Medicine Park, D.L., McElroy of El Paso, Texas, Nellie Jo Jennings of Wichita Falls, Texas, Claudine Ray Gardner of Grove, and Jackie Rith Davidson of Carlsbad, N.M.; 20 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
