Anthony "Tony" Leyba Obituary
Anthony "Tony" Leyba (Tone The Bone), 55, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home.
Tony was born September 10, 1960 at Blackfoot, Idaho, to Andrew Nash Leyba Sr. and Shirley Bercier Leyba. Tony is a lifetime Blackfoot resident, except for a short time he spent in Arizona. He attended school at Stalker Elementary, St. Margarets Catholic School and Blackfoot High School. He later received his GED.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
Tony was a very compassionate person, he always put others needs before his own and loved helping others.  
He worked at Alsco the past 15 years, he had also worked for Modern Mills, Lambert Produce and the Pilot House Restaurant.
Tony enjoyed music, traveling and especially making new friends wherever he went.
Tony is survived by his partner, Joaquin Garcia; brothers: Andy Leyba, of Pocatello, William (Sandra) Leyba, of Placerville, California, Ernest (Leslie Smith) Leyba, of Blackfoot; sisters, Betty Jo Herrera, of Jerome, Idaho, Cathy Leyba, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Callie Ankrum, of Anchorage, Alaska; uncles, Henry and Robert Bercier and aunts, Eileen LeFevre, Ella Mae Huerta and Dorothy Chavez, also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Chris Cates.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, with a viewing following.  Interment will be in Grove City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
