Bette Rae Lamprecht Obituary
Bette Rae Lamprecht, 78, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at EIRMC in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Bette Rae was born April 19, 1938 in Moreland, Idaho to Radium LaVaughn Hammond and Elizabeth Jones. She attended school in Thomas, Riverside and graduated from high school in Moreland in 1956. She participated in any sports that were provided, sang in the choir and had parts in plays.
At the end of Bette Rae's junior year of high school, a Korean War veteran by the name of Elmer Lamprecht returned home. She decided that he would be the one for her.  Although he was called to a two-plus year mission to Germany, she finished high school and went to work at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in the Arco desert. When Elmer returned home in September 1958 they became engaged to be married and were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Nov. 21, 1958.
Eventually Bette Rae and Elmer bought a home on the Moreland Highway where they raised four children, Richard, Tamara, Lance and Monica.
Bette Rae enjoyed playing church softball, played lots of volleyball and made a lot of quilts. She loved to read and had a love of family history. She sang in a singing group with her closest friends that went by the name "Triple Trio."
Her greatest love - next to her husband - was watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports beginning at Snake River High School and more recently at Shelley High School. She was well-known as the "Shelley Russet Grandma" with a highly enthusiastic presence at each game. She also was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and all BYU sporting events.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, Ward Primary President, Ward Young Women President, Stake Young Women President, Ward Relief Society President, Camp Director, Sports Director, Relief Society Music Leader, Sunday School Music Leader, and as a teacher in the Primary, Sunday School and Young Women's.
Bette Rae is survived by her husband, Elmer of Blackfoot; children, Richard "Rick" Elmer (Barbara) Lamprecht of Laguna Niguel, California, Tamara (David) Kimmel of Blackfoot, Lance Hammond (Linda) Lamprecht of Seattle, Washington and Monica (Brett) Nelson of Shelley, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, John (Pam) Hammond of Geneva, Ohio, Tom (Toni) Hammond of Highland, Utah and Bob (Pam) Hammond of Herriman, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 at the Blackfoot Stake Center, 1650 Highland Drive. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Moreland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at ww.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
