Boyd P. Gardner Obituary
Boyd P. Gardner, 83, of Pingree, Idaho passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Boyd was born September 11, 1932 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Samuel Laboid Gardner and Bessie Alberta Poulsen. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1950 and attended one year of college at Utah State and Idaho State University.
On August 30, 1950 Boyd married Valate Nelson. Five children were born to this union, Sherry, Dwight, Gregg, Brian and Shawn. They were later divorced.  On February 5, 2010 he married Patricia DeBoard in Pingree, Idaho.
He started working in construction at 12 years old. He was also the owner of Humpty's Dump Drive In in Blackfoot.
Boyd was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved being the dance director in his ward, stake and region.
He was a member of Bingham County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, a supporter of High School Rodeo and the P.R.C.A. In his free time, he enjoyed horses, hunting, snowmobiling and raising his cattle.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Patricia of Pingree; children, Sherry Buck of Riverside, Samuel Dwight (Debra) Gardner of Moreland, Gregg Boyd (Lynette) Gardner of Centerville, Utah, Brian P. (Kristy) Gardner of Herriman, Utah and Shawn B. (Christine) Gardner of Rockford; step sons, Kelly (April) DeBoard of Blackfoot and Kirt DeBoard of Phoenix, AZ; step-daughter, Karyn Hart of Midvale, UT; brothers, Jerry Samuel Gardner of Bethel, WA and Ricky Dee. (Carol) Gardner of San Juan Capistrano, CA; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; and seven step-great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry G. Gardner, Sister, Sadie Beth Sydenham; great grandson, Walker Gardner, son in law, Monte Buck, step-daughter, Konnie Wood; step son Keven DeBoard.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Pingree 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 1533 West Hwy 39 in Pingree. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.  Interment will follow at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
