Irene Juliette (Bremers) Valentine Obituary
Irene Juliette Bremers Valentine, 93, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 2, 1921 in Filer Idaho, to August and Sarah  Jane Gambrel Bremers.  She attended elementary and high school in Eden, Idaho, where she was active in music, drama and sports.  Irene attended Utah State University, then known as Utah State Agricultural College, and obtained a 2 year secretarial science certificate.
On June 9, 1942 she married Harold Clifford Valentine in Los Angeles, California.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple on June 27, 1953.  
Irene lived most of her married life in Arcadia, California.   They retired first to Groveland, California before moving to Groveland, Idaho in 2002.   Harold preceded her in death on July 8, 2011.
Irene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She  served in many of the church auxiliaries, including Stake Young Women, Relief Society President  and Temple Worker in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple.
She worked in real estate sales for many years at Herbert Hawkins Realty in Southern California.
Irene was an avid golfer and was a devoted homemaker and mother.  She loved the times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, James Clifford (Linda) Valentine of Groveland, John Gail (Kathy) Valentine of Laughlin, Nevada; daughter, Jerri Lynne (Robert) Myers, of Sacramento, California, daughter-in-law, Doris Valentine of St. George, Utah, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Clifford, son, Jeffrey Randolph, four grandchildren, Sharon , Sherrilynn and Wesley Valentine and Tara Denning and Irene's parents and brother, Charles.
Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Groveland LDS Chapel.  The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
