Joanne Van Orden Obituary
Joanne Van Orden, 79, loving wife, mother and and grandmother of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at Bingham Memorial Hospital from an apparent heart attack.
Joanne was born March 26, 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the only child of Dorsey Clark and Jessie Carlson Clark.
She attended Moreland Elementary and graduated from Snake River High School in 1955. Joanne spent the majority of her life in Blackfoot, except for a few years when she  accompanied her husband to attend college in Utah. 
On November 2, 1956 she married LaMar Van Orden in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In her early years, Joanne worked as a telephone operator in Blackfoot. She spent three years at the Logan LDS Hospital as a telephone operator. She also for a couple of years drove kindergarten bus for the Snake River School District.
Joanne was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She never turned down a calling. Most of the callings that she held were in the Relief Society and Enrichment. 
Joanne loved to sew and was a member of many sewing clubs such as the Quilter's Guild and the Moreland Sewing Club.
In her free time she enjoyed cooking and tole and oil painting. She was an avid Jazz fan and especially enjoyed being the favorite fan of her grandkids events. She courageously endured many health issues in her life with never a complaint.
Joanne is survived by her husband, LaMar of Blackfoot; sons, Gregory (Lee Ann) Van Orden, of Grantsville, Utah, Jay (Shelli) Van Orden of Thomas, Idaho; daughters, Juliann (Kevin) Bales, of Richmond, Utah, Jill (Reed) Talbot, of Perry, Utah, Marla (Tate) Clement, of Springville, Utah; 22 grandchildren and 31 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dorsey and Jessie Clark.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Blackfoot North West Stake Center. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 at Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the stake center. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
