LaRaine Hebdon Lindsay Obituary
LaRaine Hebdon Lindsay, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in her home with her loving husband by her side.  
LaRaine was born June 28, 1933 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Alvin and Edna Hebdon.
LaRaine was devoted to her family and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved music and enjoyed singing wherever she could, whether it was in her home or performing with various groups. Throughout her life she held many positions in the LDS church and found her passion in the scouting organization, where she went on to receive the Wood Badge and Silver Beaver awards; two of the highest recognitions in the scouting program. LaRaine was proud of the fact that all three of her sons received their Eagle Scout Award.
In 1952, LaRaine married the love of her life, Ben Lindsay. Following Ben's service in the Navy, they made their home in Blackfoot, Idaho. They raised four children and shared their home with many foster children and Indian placement students.  LaRaine served at the Pocatello LDS Data Center and served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints in the Philippines Manila Mission, Fort Hall Native American Branch, Idaho Pocatello, and at the Blackfoot Deseret Industries.
LaRaine is survived by her husband, Ben; four children, LaRee (Paul) Waldron of Tremonton, Utah, Cal (Yvonne) Lindsay of Blackfoot, Idaho, Quint (Marcia) Lindsay of Blackfoot, Idaho and Kyle (Julia) Lindsay of Smithfield, Utah. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  LaRaine was the youngest of 12 children and is survived by one sister, Arva Line. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Edna Hebdon; and siblings, LaVaun Hebdon, Edwin Hebdon, Ranald Hebdon, Eda Swanson, Selma Simper, Glenna Smith, Arlie Hebdon, Fred Hebdon, Joseph Hebdon and LaRee Hebdon.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Wapello 2nd Ward LDS Church, 337 North 200 East in Blackfoot.  The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and on Friday, January 16 at 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the church.  Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
