Linda Marie Jensen Chase Obituary
Linda Marie Jensen Chase, 59, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at her home in Blackfoot surrounded by family.
Linda was born May 2, 1957 to Larry and Hazel Jensen in Idaho Falls. She is the only girl of 4 children. As she was growing up, she loved to spend time with her brothers, playing games with them, and occasionally spying on them. She was lovingly referred to by her father, Larry, as "Daddy's little pesterer" because she would follow him around and constantly ask questions. She had a very tight bond with her mother, Hazel, such that they could talk for hours when getting together.
She grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and was in the graduating class of 1975 from Blackfoot High. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg and received her Associates degree.
She then attended Brigham Young University where she met her husband to be, David Crockett Chase. On Nov. 23, 1979 Linda and David Chase were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She gave birth to and raised five rambunctious boys: Alan, Joseph, Mark, Michael, and Daniel. As it became apparent all the boys would be tall, she was quickly educated in the ins-and-outs of basketball. She was very close to her boys and enjoyed doing many activities with them.
During David's career, she resided in Provo, Utah, Louisville, Kentucky, St. Louis, Missouri, Colorado Springs, Colorado and then ultimately retiring back to Blackfoot, Idaho. She has several friends that love and revere her for her fun, soft spoken, and loving qualities at each stop throughout her life's journey.
Linda was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She served faithfully in the Relief Society, Primary, and in the cub scouts.
Linda is survived by her mother, Hazel, her brothers: Dale, Brent (Carolyn), and Brian (Kyoko), her husband, David, her sons: Alan (Natalie), Joseph (Kristi), Mark (Ashley), Michael (Maritza), and Daniel, and her 6 grandchildren: Luke, Samantha, Ammon, David, Gordon, and Eve along with 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Her father, Larry Jensen, who passed away on June 4th, 2016, precedes her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30 at the Blackfoot 6th Ward church building at 660 Teton Road with Bishop Jon Clapp officiating. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services at the church. She will be buried in the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
