Lois was born on Oct, 26, 1929 in Arco, Idaho, to parents Jess L. Amy and Hazel Marie O'Maley. She lived the first 46 years of her life in the Little Lost River Valley. She attended the Clyde school for 8 years then she went to Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah where she graduated and then attended Idaho State University in Pocatello. The next couple of summers Lois spent her time working for Faye Holland taking care of Faye's 4 children and cooking for haying crews. In 1950 her dad, Jess bought another place called the lower Holland Place and Lois went to work there.
On June 3, 1954 she married Arnold K. Munson in Rexburg, Idaho. After they were married they moved to the Pahsimeroi Valley where they had their first daughter Susan Marie. Three years later they moved to Clyde where their second child Julie Ann was born. Later, a third daughter was born, Carrie Lee. Lois and Arnold also adopted a boy, Roy Lynn. Arnold and Lois ranched in Clyde for 15 years, raising sheep, pigs, chickens, and milking cows. In 1975 the family moved to the mouth of Pass Creek on the Mackay side later, moving into Mackay. Arnold passed away in 1985. Lois continued to live in Mackay. She started a carpet cleaning business with Gloria Rogers. In 1987 Lois started working at the INL as a custodian and continued working there until she retired in 1995. After she retired, she was an avid traveler. She was very busy and enjoyed watching her kids, grandkids and great- grandkids in various activities they participated in.
Throughout her life she has been involved in numerous clubs and organizations. In her spare time she rotated coffee houses to meet her friends, spreading wealth around the community.
