Rayo Ellis Scott, 91
Rayo Ellis Scott, 91, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home from natural causes.
Rayo was born on October 11, 1923 in Wapello, Idaho and graduated from Thomas High School in 1941. He lived in Montana and Idaho, with 58 years being in Pocatello.
He married Doris Mae Palmer on August 25, 1949 and they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 28, 1952.
Rayo was a carpenter and millwright working on dams, missile silo, roads, Simplot, FMC, and other projects. He also helped build the Pocatello Stake Center.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved to hunt and fish, go on road trips and spending time with his family.
Rayo is survived by his wife, Doris Mae Scott, Pocatello, Idaho; children, Rayo Edward (Judy) Scott, Pocatello, Idaho; Howard Jeffery (Tamara) Scott, Pocatello, Idaho; Clifford Dean (Amanda) Scott, Rupert, Idaho; John Marshall (Yana) Scott, Cedar Hills, Utah; Lucinda Louise (Darrell) Lewis, Blackfoot, Idaho; Margaret Kathleen (Doug) Hutchison, Roseville, California; 27 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Vilate Scott; siblings, Harris Scott, Durwerd Scott, Lamond Scott, Sarah Scott, Carmel Scott; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church, 655 S. Grant Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204 with a viewing one hour prior.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Burial will be in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery, 13 S. 725 W. Blackfoot, ID 83221.
