Richard Evan "Chucky" Huerta Obituary
Richard "Chucky" Evan Huerta, 47, of Pocatello, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1967 in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Fermin Huerta and Ella Mae Bercier. He spent his youth in Texas and returned to Idaho in 1988. He attended school in Falfurrias, Texas.
In 1998 he married Brianna Power; they were later divorced. On April 14, 2012 he married Cindy Johnson in Pocatello.
Richard worked for the City of Pocatello in the sanitation department; he was known as "I. R. Garbage Man".
He loved softball, pit bulls and cooking his famous ribs, but his daughters and nephews were his world.
Richard is survived by his wife, Cindy of Pocatello; his daughters, Blu Skye Huerta (15) and Jurni Roze (12) Huerta, both of Idaho Falls; step-children, Keanu Johnson and Kandice Ghan; his mother, Ella Mae Bercier; one brother, Fermin (Deanna) Huerta of Premonton, Texas; sister, Nanette (Allen) Wilcox, of Pocatello; nieces, Alyssa and Edlin Huerta; and nephews, Fermin III, Jay and Jeremy Huerta, Sebastian, Nicholas, Keanu and Dazariah Wilcox, Jaxton, Daryl; and his best bud, Big Booty Bane Wilcox; and close friends, Paul, Katrina, Marissa and Meiko Holquin.
He was preceded in death by his father Fermin Huerta Sr.; and uncle, George "Tootie" Bercier.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
