Shirley J. Kimball, 80, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at The Gables of Pocatello. |
Shirley was born June 3, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Howard Burton Mainard and Inez Coila Inman. Shirley graduated from high school in Roland, Arkansas.
After graduating high school, Shirley moved to California where she worked as a secretary, while her father was in the Air Force. After this she moved to Idaho.
She worked at Simplot, INL, Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce and the Residential Training Center where she was lovingly referred to as "Grandma." Shirley was a loyal volunteer to the Bingham County Senior Center, volunteering more than 20 hours each week.
In her free time, Shirley enjoyed thrift store shopping, volunteer work and feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard. She also was an excellent seamstress. She loved playing bingo at the Senior Center with her many friends.
Shirley is survived by her son, Burt (Nancy) Sandow of Pocatello; daughter, Teresa (James) Twiggs Underwood of Las Vegas; sister, Faye D. Conway of Texas; brother, James D. Causey III of California; daughter-in-law, Terri Nosay of Virginia; and grandchildren, Kylan James Twiggs of Washington D.C., Mackenzie Underwood of Las Vegas and Stephanie Fain of Meridian, Idaho.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Inez, and son, Howard W. Nosay.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Hawker Funeral Home. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
