Tracee Jo Nelson Obituary
Tracee Jo Nelson, age 56, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, due to complications from a sudden illness. She was born on May 9, 1960 in Pocatello, Idaho to Beverly and Val Dean Parris.
Tracee and Hal Dean Nelson were married on Sept. 13, 1979. They divorced after 20 years of marriage but remained friends until the end. Together they had Forrest Dean Nelson, born on Dec. 16, 1981 and Joseph Val Nelson on Nov. 16, 1986.
Tracee grew up in McCammon, Idaho and attended school at Marsh Valley High School, after she married she moved to Pocatello where she and Hal raised their two sons until 1992, they then moved to Blackfoot where she has lived until her passing.
Tracee had exemplary work ethic as a waitress and a bookkeeper. She loved animals and had a particular soft spot for rescuing strays.
She loved music and had it playing in her home 24/7. She also loved reading, playing cards and spending time with her grandson, Micky. Tracee was a very social person and loved chatting over coffee.
Anyone that knew Tracee can attest to her kindness and huge heart for all. She always went out of her way to make people feel welcome and wanted. She was very kind, caring and thoughtful and always wore a big smile.
She was a terrific mom, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Tracee is survived by her two sons, Forrest Nelson, of Blackfoot, Joe Nelson, of Pocatello; one grandson Micky Nelson of Blackfoot, their respective significant others, Amber and Taylor, and eight siblings, Tina (Paul) Nelson of Chubbuck, Douglas Parris (Cynda) of Pocatello, Sidney Dopp of St. Anthony, Cass (Andrea) Dopp of Idaho Falls, Penny (Larry) Bybee of Pocatello, Nita (Curtice) Benson of Pocatello, Melanie (Howard) Bee of Logan UT, Jeffrey Dopp of Idaho Falls, and 18 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Val Dean Parris and sister, Terri Dopp.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church 408 N Arthur Ave. In Pocatello at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. Close friends and family will be meeting from 4-5 p.m.
