Victor R. Torres Obituary
Victor R. Torres, 56, passed away Sept. 14, 2017 from complications from surgery.
Victor was born March 29, 1961 in Idaho Falls to Jovita R. and Monsais G. Torres. He was raised in Firth where he attended school. He honorably served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army and National Guard.
He met Amelia Olmos in 1979. They were married in 1980 and would welcome four children, Tomas, Maria, Victor Jr. and Martin.
Victor worked at the Foundry in Idaho Falls for a few years until he began work as a roofer. He worked for various roofing companies until he was forced to retire due to his cancer. Victor loved being with his family, his kids, grandkids and his brothers.
He loved his tools and fixing stuff because he was really good at it. He also loved rafting the river and being on the river. He loved being with family at this time and he loved nothing more than having an ice cold beer with his brothers when they visited for the summer. Victor also had a great love for his many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved very much.
 Victor is survived by his wife of 38 years Amelia; children Tomas (Elesha) Torres of Blackfoot, Maria (Hector) Martinez of Rigby, Victor Jr (Rosie) Torres of Firth and Martin (Jessica) Torres of Shelley. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Richard Torres of Washington, Paul Torres of Washington, Morris (Carol) Torres of New Mexico, Joe Torres of Idaho Falls, Benny (Penny) Torres of Firth, Noemi (Late Fred) Sandoval of Missouri, Olivia (Ken) Wernette of Firth and Joel (Wife) Torres of Idaho Falls. He had 16 grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart.
 Victor was preceded in death by two nephews Nicholas Sandoval and Kenny Wernette, brother-in-law Fred Sandoval and parents Jovita and Monsais Torres.
 
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.
The family will meet with friends from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Hillcrest cemetery in Shelley, Idaho.
