Darrel Kepler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 12 to Oct. 13, 2015.
Darrel Ray Kepler, 59 passed away on Oct. 1, 2015 from a short battle with cancer.
Darrel was born June 18, 1956 in Marysville, California and was raised in Gridley, California, spending his summers in Lake Tahoe, California at the family vacation home.
He was an avid snow skier, and after graduation moved to Utah to pursue his passion of skiing. He was a ski instructor at Snowbird Ski Resort. Photos of Darrel skiing are still displayed at the resort.
Darrel married Susan Young (Irwin) in 1977, to that union there was born a beautiful daughter, Ashley Morgan. They divorced in 1985. Darrel moved to Blackfoot in 1987. He met and married Kandace Gamble in 1988.
Darrel most recently was the Senior Sales Development Associate for Bully Dog Technology, also know as Derive Systems. Darrel excelled at sales. His ability to connect with his clients and build lasting relationships of trust was unmatched. A quick wit and sense of humor were Darrel's trademark. One could not spend more than a couple of minutes with him without having a good laugh. He was a very generous and giving person. He did not know a stranger.
He was an avid hunter and in 1996 received the first place award for black bear from Safari Club International. His love of nature and the mountains led him on many adventures. He loved to spend his free time during the summer at Hebgen Lake, Mont., where he developed lasting friendships.
Darrel is survived by his wife Kandace of Blackfoot, daughter Ashley (Tony) DeHaan, grandsons Maximus and Rocky Still and granddaughter Alice DeHaan, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; his parents, Charles Raymond and Peggy Kepler of Graeagle, California and sister Cheryl (David) Nichols of Red Bluff, California. He is also survived by his beloved Springer Spaniels, Bailey and Cody.
Per his wishes he was cremated. A memorial service will occur at a later date.

Darrell was everyone's favorite person as we went through school together. Always sweet and very funny and just a very fun person to be around. Everyone loved Darrell and he was always surrounded by friends. Darrell has an incredible family and you could see the special bond that they all shared. His sister Cheri always seemed very close to her brother. Raymond and Peggy were wonderful parents and my family enjoyed knowing their whole family. Always great memories growing up in Gridley with wonderful friends like Darrell. My thoughts and prayers to everyone and I am sure that Darrell is smiling down on you. Love to all of you, Laurie Myers Ellis

To Darrel's family - my condolences for a life taken too soon. I'm sure he's in Heaven seeing what kinds of deals he can make with the Angels...he's watching over and protecting you. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Remember to just breathe...moment by moment will become day by day....just remember to breathe. Darrel's love for all of you will live on in your hearts and memories.
