Mark LaMura, an actor who starred on the soap opera “All My Children,” has died at the age of 68, according to multiple news sources.

His “All My Children” co-star Susan Lucci posted the news on Instagram.

“How can this be? I just received the shocking and deeply saddening news that wonderful Mark LaMura has passed away! Mark played my brother Mark on All My Children--he was such a talented and accomplished actor/ a bright and charming presence in all our AMC lives--and a really great guy. Mark was loved and he will be missed! RIP, my friend.”

TVLINE confirmed his passing with his friend and fellow actor Donnie Kehr.

LaMura played Mark Dalton on “All My Children,” who was the brother of Susan Lucci’s character. He played the role from 1977 until 1989, making guest appearances periodically after his main run on the show.

He appeared on many television series including “The Sopranos,” “L.A. Law,” and “30 Rock,” and played John Doe on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
