Peggy J. Eavenson Oliver, 88, of Amarillo, died Friday, September 7, 2018. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren, with Pastor Scott Higginbotham officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Peggy was born September 4, 1930 in Wheeler to H.B. and Bertha Eavenson. She graduated Crowell High School. She married Floyd Oliver on June 23, 1951 in Wichita Falls. Peggy was a devoted wife, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She supported her husband during his harvesting career, cooking three full meals a day for the farm hands. After retirement, she and Floyd enjoyed travelling around the country in their RV. Peggy gave her life to Christ at the age of 16. She was very involved at Temple Baptist Church, where she was a member for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Joyful Noise Sunday school class. She loved birds and flowers, and enjoyed fishing. Family was everything to Peggy. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids, and even her granddogs. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Oliver; a brother, Charles Eavenson; a sister, Veda Mae Everson; and a son-in-law, Gary Wise. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Oliver Laird and husband Darby, and Barbara Oliver Wise all of Amarillo; a sister, Lois Morton and husband Larry of Dallas; a brother, Harold Eavenson and wife Marcia of Rockwall; six grandchildren, Stephanie Wrather and husband J.J., Weston Crow, Josh Laird and wife Kristina, Jason Laird and wife Jamie, Jessica Lopez and husband Anthony, and Colton Wise and wife Bailey; and seven great-grandchildren, Rilae, Audrey, Garrett, Darby Brooke, Sawyer, Asher, Skyler.
