Robert Hubbard

HUBBARD, ROBERT "BOB" Of Dexter Township, Michigan
Age 77, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2013 with his family at his side. He was born in December, 1935. His parents Floyd and Alice Hubbard and sister Mary Ann Carter preceded him in death. The immediate family is his wife of 55 years, Marlene Hubbard, daughters Sandy Hubbard (Shawn Rutter) and Margaret (Scott) Ramsay, and son Mike Hubbard, along with his three grandchildren, Ben and Nate Rutter and Lee Ramsay. He will be missed by his large family of relatives and friends. The Hubbard family has been part of the Ann Arbor community for over 40 years. He loved entertaining at home, movies, theater, music, singing, and sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and U of M Wolverines. In 2000, Bob retired after 30 years of service at The University of Michigan, where he was Director of Auxiliary Services which included Printing Services. He was a pioneer in adopting new printing technologies and using digital networks for efficiency and distribution, even in the early days of the internet. In his early professional years, Bob was a newspaper owner, journalist and printer. Many of his close relatives and friends have been employed in printing and publishing. He passed along his respect and affection for printing to so many along the way, including his printing students at Washtenaw Community College. Bob attended Berkley High School and graduated from Belding High School. He spent his youth in Belding and Berkley, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University.
