Burgess, Charles Roland - Jacksonville  
Funeral service for Charles Roland Burgess, 78, will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Faith Temple Christian Center in Jacksonville, with the Rev. T.R. Harper, the Rev. Charles Parris and Mike Almaroad officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Mr. Burgess died on his birthday, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Linda Welch Burgess, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kelly (David) Burgess Nickolson, of Jacksonville and Nickie (Marty) McLeod, of Jacksonville; four sons, Charles Michael (Louise) Burgess, of Piedmont, Louie Blake (Sheila) Burgess, of Piedmont, Thomas Brett (Frances) Burgess, of Jonesville, S.C. and James "Bear" Welch; of Jacksonville; a special daughter-in-law, Remona Burgess, of Sumter, S.C.; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda (Donald) Bryant, of Jacksonville, Jan Dumas, of Sevierville, Tenn., Neva Kay Parris, of Fla. and Charlotte Burgess, of Alexandria; three brothers, Harold (Cathy) Burgess, of Golden Springs, Jeff Burgess, of Gadsden and Wayne Dunagan, of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of the Almaroad family. Mr. Burgess was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a faithful and loving friend to many. He spent his working career as a mechanic, being self-employed and helping others in their time of need. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Burgess was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Thomas Burgess and Jewell Frances Mangum Burgess Dunagan; his first wife, Alice Estes Burgess; two sons, Roland Eugene Burgess and Michael Welch; two grandsons, Phillip Michael Burgess and Shelly McClain Smith; one granddaughter, Tiffany Brooke Dunagan; two sisters, Jean Dunagan and Elizabeth Medders; one brother, Jimmy Dunagan; and one sister-in-law, Brenda Dunagan. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Almaroad family for their love and support over the many years and especially through the last five weeks. Dobbs, Hollis Fred - Piedmont  
Hollis Fred Dobbs, 79, of Piedmont, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 26, 2015 at NE AL Regional Medical Center. Born in Calhoun County to Lewis and Rosa Hulsey Dobbs, he served his country in the US Navy and was a security guard at Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his parents.HE is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine "Kathy" Dobbs; son, Dr. Kevin W. Dobbs and wife, Tahya; daughter, Alisa J. Hollis and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Camea, Carson, and Candylee Dobbs, Ryder and Oakley Hollis; brother, Troy (Nellie) Dobbs; sister, Imogene (Wayne) Collier; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be today April 28 at 2 p.m. from Piedmont Memory Garden with visitation from 11:30- 1:30 p.m. at Dansby Heritage Chapel. Dr. Kevin W. Dobbs will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Dobbs Family.

Kelley, Thurman Lloyd - Ohatchee  
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Thurman Lloyd Kelley, 78 of Ohatchee, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Boiling Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time. Mr. Kelley passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Kelley is survived by one son, Jeffrey Kelley and wife, Rita, of Ohatchee; grandchildren, Chad (Brandy) Turner, Brandi (Micah) Hammonds, Specialist Brady Kelley and Jenna Kelley; great grandchildren, Brandalyn and Bryant Turner, Addisyn and Aidan Hammonds; his present wife, Peggy Hill Kelley; her children, Jimmy Darrel Hill (Renaye), Jackie Nunnelly (Keith), and Debra Dickerson (Jeff); sister, Juanita Walker (Bo); brother, Bud Kelley and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kelley is preceded in death by parents, Thurman and Wannie Kelley; wife of 50 years Sue Kelley. Mr. Kelley retired as Street Superintendent of The City of Anniston after 38 years of service. Pallbearer will by Brady Kelley, Chad Turner, Micah Hammonds, Duane Mitchell, Danny Prater, Ricky Cole, Tim Kelley and Layton McGrady. Parker, Darren Lee - Birmingham  
A private service will be held on the beach in Panama City for Darren Lee Parker, 55, who died April 17, at his home in Birmingham after a long illness. He was born in San Diego, California. He grew up in Weaver and graduated from Weaver High School in 1978. He moved to Virginia in 1984 and came back home to Alabama in 1997. He is survived by his mother, Venita Parker; a sister, Cheryl Falce; and a brother, Bryan Parker; he had two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Edward Parker and a brother Darryl Parker.
