Herd, Roger Kenneth "Randy" - Munford  
Funeral service for Roger Kenneth "Randy" Herd, 62, of Munford will be today March 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home. Billy Hayes will officiate and burial will be in the Munford Cemetery on Jennifer Rd. His family will receive friends today from 12:30 till service time at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Herd passed away at his home March 1, 2015. He is preceded in death by mother, Gerilyn Stringfellow and father, Marvin "Coot" Herd. Native of Talladega and longtime resident of Munford. He was a member of Munford Church of Christ. He loved camping and the beach and was a history and genealogy buff. He loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nell Stephens Herd; daughter, Kelly Nicole Herd (Chris Smith); grandson, Kameron Joseph Brock; brothers, David Herd (Rebecca), James "Bear" Heath and Joseph Herd; several nieces and nephews. Holland, Mary Brown - Anniston  
Funeral service for Mary Brown Holland, 91, of Anniston, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Gray Brown Service with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Holland passed away Wednesday evening at NHC after a long illness. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Knighten; granddaughter, Kimberly Donovan; grandson-in-law, James Donovan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Holland is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Holland; twelve siblings. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fisherman's Sunday School Class at Golden Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Holland was born in Covington, Ga. and moved to Oxford when she was three years old. She was a long time member of Golden Springs Baptist Church.

Homesley, James "Ronnie" - Weaver  
Funeral service for Mr. James "Ronnie" Homesley, 67, will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel, with the Rev. William Cain officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Homesley died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at RMC in Anniston. The family requests casual attire in memory of Mr. Homesley. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Homesley, of Weaver; one daughter, Carrie (John Thompson) Homesley, of Weaver; two sons, Craig (Penny) Homesley and Chris Homesley, all of Weaver; nine grandchildren, Donovan (Sarah) Howell, of Niles, Ohio, Ryan (Kaci) Barker, of Beale AFB, Calif., Mikey Homesley, Hunter Homesley, Colby Thompson, Haley Homesley, Taylor Thompson, Dalton Homesley and McKennah Homesley, all of Weaver; three great grandchildren, Lily Joyce Howell, Rayne Chrisann Howell and Rhonda Naomi Howell, all of Niles, Ohio; two brothers, Hughey "Bigun" (Sandra) Homesley and Dewey Homesley, all of Weaver; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of the family. Mr. Homesley was of the Baptist faith and was a US Air Force veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War Era. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot after working there for 34 years. Mr. Homesley was a family man that never put himself first. He always thought of others and cared deeply for many. Mr. Homesley held his family close to his heart. He enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren and was a loving husband, father and "PawPaw". In his spare time he loved to hunt, fish and watch Alabama football, of which he was a die hard fan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Homesley was preceded in death by his parents, Mose James and Christine Marie Homesley; his grandparents, Walt and Corrine Little john and Steve and Josie Homesley; his sister, Sonja Cain. Howell, Elizabeth (Pollye) - Anniston  
Elizabeth (Pollye) Howell passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 12 noon, at Saks Baptist Church, where she was a member. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Chapel Hill Funeral Home will be in charge, with Pastor Daniel Harper officiating. Her survivors include one daughter, Tanya Sims; one son, Steve Gardner (Pat); grandchildren, Jennifer Cox (Bobby), Mary Elizabeth Satterlee (Stephen) and Christina Tumlin (Daniel); Doug (Amber) Gardner and Josh (Kenley) Gardner; 11 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howell was retired from Anniston Army Depot where she served as a Switchboard Operator for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Howell; parents, Fred and Mamie Howard; sisters, Opal Guthrie and Frances Dear; brother, Bill Howard. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Howell owned and operated Howell's Grocery Store in Blue Mountain for more than 20 years. The family thanks primary caregiver Mrs. Vancine Dubose for her special love and friendship she provided for many years. Also thank you to Dr. Wilfredo Grana, Gentiva Health Services and other home health care professionals who assisted in her care. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Saks Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends.
