Bernard Victor "B.V." Robinson

Oxford - Bernard Victor "B.V." Robinson, 93, journeyed to his eternal Heavenly home on June 26, 2013. Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight, June 28, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Lakeview Baptist Church-Oxford. Burial will follow at Dogwood Trail Memorial Gardens in Oxford. Bernard, son of the late Tom and Roxie Robinson, was born and raised in Ranburne, Alabama, the second oldest of ten siblings. While serving in World War II for three and a half years, B.V. earned the Soldier's Medal after pulling a pilot from a burning plane, fully demonstrating his servant's heart in which all who knew him benefited. Returning to Oxford in 1947, B.V. married Orie Smith Robinson. Together they had two children, Robbie R. Doyle, husband, Tommy, and Bernard "Alan" Robinson, wife Elizabeth. He was a deacon at Lakeview Baptist Church for over 50 years which he served as chairman for several years, taught Sunday School, and was Sunday School Director. He served in the Kiwanis Club of Oxford, was an avid bird hunter and Alabama fan. Family was of the upmost importance to him and he was active in all avenues of their lives. In 1972, Bernard opened the family business of Oxford Tire Service, which is still proudly serving Oxford today. Bernard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Orie Robinson, and siblings, Buford, Nina, Doyle, Eva, Ottis, Curtis, and Coyce. He is survived by his brothers, Bill Robinson and Martis Robinson; grandchildren, Lori Doyle Steward, Clint Doyle, Paige Robinson, Rachel Doyle, and Andrew Robinson (wife Christina); great-grandchildren, Lindy Steward, Garrett Steward, Riley Doyle, Colby Doyle, and Ella Jane Steward. Pallbearers include Alan Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Tommy Doyle, Clint Doyle, Garrett Steward, Colby Doyle, Bill Robinson, and Martis Robinson. A special thanks to Autumn Cove Anniston, Veterans Home and St. Vincent's of Pell City. And also to all family and friends who aided in his care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Faith Christian School Building Fund at 4100 Ronnaki Road Anniston, AL 36207, 256-236-4499.
