A Funeral Service for Mr. Charles Perry Jenkins, 90, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The Reverend Jesse Shaddix will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday from noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. Mr. Jenkins passed away on March 29, 2014 at NHC Healthcare. Mr. Jenkins was born in Lineville and grew up in Clay County. Mr. Jenkins was a charter member and helped in the construction of Bynum United Methodist Church. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot. He served in the United States Marine Corps
and served in World War II
. Mr. Jenkins was a 50 year lifetime member of the Masons and a member of the VFW
. He loved being outdoors, gardening, and The Crimson Tide. Mr. Jenkins was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Jenkins is preceded in death by his wife, Essie Gaye Jenkins; his parents, James M. Jenkins and Daisy Dallas Johnson Jenkins; a sister; and seven brothers. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his daughters, Peggy Dunn and husband, Phillip Keith, of Oxford and Pat Lee and husband, Ben, of Anniston; grandchildren, Dallas E. Dunn and wife, Andrea, of Breman, Ga., Anelizabeth Davidson and husband, Nick, of Moody and LaDonna Reynolds and husband, David, of Oxford; great- grandchildren, Hayden Reynolds, Brannon Dunn, and Turner Dunn; his sisters, Catherine Fleck and husband, Buddy, of Birmingham, and Ruth Lashley, of Talladega; numerous nieces and nephews.
