Dave Harlan Dothard

Jacksonville - Funeral services for Dave Harlan Dothard, 77, will be today at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to services. Mr. Dothard passed Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Jenny Dothard; two daughters, Kelly Luevano, of Dallas, Texas and Shannon Homesley (Gerald), of Jacksonville; one son, Scott Dothard (Jenny), of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Megan Homesley, Olivia Schaefer, Emily Fincher, Joseph Dothard, Ann-Katherine Dothard, Riley Dothard, and Brodie Homesley. Pallbearers will be George Dothard, Greg Dothard, Joseph Dothard, Jerry Thompson, Anthony Poland and Joey Chambliss. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Haynes, Jim Barber, Bobby Stewart, Tom Davis and Fletcher Cheatwood. Mr. Dothard was a member of Nances Creek Baptist Church and served three years in the U.S. Army Military Police. He had 30 years of service with the Alabama Department of Public Safety and he loved fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Dothard was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lois Dothard; and two brothers, E. C. Dothard and Gary Dothard.
