David Marshall Martin, 61, died on Thursday, September 01, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 7, 1954, in Anniston to the late Marshall and Naioma Bryant Martin. He had been employed with Pipkin Motors in the Internet Auto Sales department and was a member of First Methodist Church. David was an avid Alabama football fan as well as a New York Yankees fan. He loved watching his kids play sports, and loved the family pug, Emit. Survivors include his wife, Debra Hardy Martin, of Valdosta; his daughter, Hilary Martin, of Atlanta; two sons, Hayden Martin, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Heath Martin, of Valdosta; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pam Martin; and a sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Tim McQuirk, all of Oxford; his mother-in-law, Ruth Hardy; a sister-in-law, Gail Andrews, both of Anniston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Dianna Hardy; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristi and Gary Wilkinson. A memorial service for David Marshall Martin will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
