Franklin Warren Whaley

Funeral service for Mr. Franklin Warren Whaley, 65, of Anniston, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Clay County. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Whaley passed away Friday, October 15, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Whaley is survived by his wife, Judy S. Whaley; sons, Kennon Whaley, Scott Whaley, David Jones, Darone Jones; daughters, Kim Hawthorne and Cathy Pate; sister, Margaret Bishop; grandchildren, Greyson Jones, Trenton Jones, Jameson Jones, McClellan Jones, Fox Jones, Kennedy Jones, Nora Pate, Edwin Pate, Hunter Whaley, Lexie Whaley, Krys Whaley, K. J. Whaley, Kal Whaley, Kace Whaley, Andrea Hawthorne, Connor Hawthorne; nieces and nephews, Chris Bishop, Pam Foley, Bonnie Youngblood, Madison Gable, Patty Noe, Jimmy Vise, Danny Vise, and Susan Farr. Pallbearers will be David Jones, Darone Jones, Kennon Whaley, Scott Whaley, Chris Bishop, Philip Pate, James Ramey, Judy Whaley. Honorary pallbearers will be K. J. Whaley, Jamie Brannock, Joey Brannock, Greyson Jones, Trenton Jones, Jameson Jones, McClellan Jones, Hunter Whaley and Edwin Pate. Mr. Whaley was a native of Lineville, and a resident of Anniston. He attended Lineville High School and the University of Alabama. He proudly played ball for Coach Jack Stewart and for Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. He was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shell and Bertie Whaley; sister, Sarah Ann Vise. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to .
