Hosea D. Connell

Anniston - Memorial services for Mr. Hosea D. Connell, 87, of Anniston, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Abi Carlisle-Wilke officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Connell passed away on July 7, 2013. Mr. Connell was a native of Pickens County and had lived in Calhoun County since 1949. He was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. He was a United States Army veteran, and served his country in World War II. Mr. Connell retired from the Anniston Army Depot Security Division with 36 years of service and received his 50 year pin from the Free and Accepted Eastaboga Mason Lodge #55 on May 23, 2007. Mr. Connell is preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. and Mary Mullican Connell; a son, Frederick Connell; a grandson, Christopher Connell; his brothers, Homer, Vinson, and James Howard Connell; and his sisters, Gratice Cockerham, Margaret Richardson, and Gertrude Wheat. Mr. Connell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie T. Connell, of Anniston; a daughter, Diane Connell Israel and her husband, Bobby, of Anniston; his sisters, Virginia Hammond, of Bay Minette; a brother, Calvin Connell, of University Place, Washington; grandchildren, Joseph Connell and his wife, Traci, and Brenton Israel, of Anniston, Charles Connell, of Lincoln, and Ethan Israel, of Opelika; great-grandchildren, Kaytlin, Alex, Jackson, and Gage Connell, and Kayla Turner and her husband, Derrick; a great-great-grandchild, Brooklynn and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Eulaton United Methodist Church, 401 Westover Road, Anniston, AL 36201.
