Howard West

Eastaboga - A Celebration of Life for Mr. Howard West, 81, of Eastaboga, will be at noon on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Betta View Hills Church of Christ with Richard O'Conner, Bryan Dunaway and Elbert Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5-7 tonight. Mr. West went to heaven while enjoying an afternoon with family at home. He is survived by his wife, Betty West, of West Insurance in Oxford, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 14, 2013. Other survivors include his children, Denise and Ed Ramsey, David and Kathy West, Steve and Bonnie West; grandchildren, Shelly and Jay Painter, Chris and Alexis Ramsey, Scott and Brittany West, Jeremy West, Will, Wyatt, Maggie and Madison West; great-grandchildren, Logan and Tyler Painter, Hunter, Caleb and Emma Ramsey, three sisters, Geraldine Bryant, Josephine Horton, Betty Davidson and a brother, J.T. West. Mr. West was a devoted husband and loving father to his children and grandchildren. He was loved by his family and friends. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and served him faithfully for close to 60 years. He served as an elder, teacher, song leader, and numerous other roles in service to God. His love for Jesus was obvious to those around him. Mr. West served as a SGT. in the United States Army. He was a top honors salesman for Otasco on Noble Street for 26 years. He was the owner of West Car and Truck Sales in Bynum and was a member of Betta View Hills Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell "Red" West and Ruby West Dunaway and a daughter, Linda Cheryl West. Miller Funeral Home
