James Bernard Strawder

Funeral service for James Bernard Strawder, 76, will be Monday, April 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with Pastor Michael Cox, Pastor Tommy Graham and Brother Jerry Kelly. Burial will be in Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday. Mr. Strawder died Friday, April 11, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Strawder is survived by his wife of 49 years, Christine Strawder, of Piedmont; four daughters, Jessica Augello, of Bingen, Germany, Patricia Rushe and her husband, Earl, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Victoria Brazier, of Piedmont and Paula Trotter Strawder, of Centre; four sons, Zachary Strawder and his wife, Dee Dee, of Yulee, Fla., Richard Barb, of Heflin, Brian Strawder and his wife, Tonya, of Piedmont and Tony Strawder and his wife, Pam, of Piedmont; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tommy Trotter, Jim Durbin, Anthony Strawder, David Aikens, Joshua Cleveland and Dalton Snider. A special thanks is extended to Amedysis Hospice and caregivers Katie Hogeland and Lauren Kellett for their loving and compassionate care. Mr. Strawder was a member of Plainview Congregational Holiness Church and served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Barry Strawder and Jessie Blanche Strawder; two brothers, Sidney and Joseph Strawder; four sisters, Martha Jane Strawder, Sarah Strawder Young, Susie Sellers and Eunice Smith.
