John Francis Todt Jr.

Memorial service for John Francis Todt Jr., 65, formerly of Anniston, will be Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. John passed away on April 6, 2014, at his home in Bastrop, Texas following a brief but fierce battle with cancer. John was born in Talladega, Ala., to John Francis Todt and Virginia Mae Forrest Todt, of Jacksonville on October 5, 1948. He graduated from Anniston High School in 1966 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Auburn University in 1970. His career in construction management included several companies, most recently Walton Construction-a CORE Company. The company specialized in government contracts, and spanned dozens of projects in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina and Texas. John is preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents, Herman Elmer Todt and Mary Elizabeth Brockamp Todt, and James Russell Forrest and Ester Hurst Forrest, all of Talladega and by his devoted canine companion, Rusty. Survivors include his wife, Lenda Cox Todt, formerly, of Camilla, Ga.; daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Harbison, of Anniston; son, John (Jona) Todt, of Weaver; step-daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Bush, of Jackson, Ga., Amy (Dan) Kunkel, of Orange Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Pam (Clark) Sharit, of Birmingham; brother, Tom (Linda) Todt of Lincoln and several nieces and nephews.
