Joseph L. Ridgeway

Oxford - Funeral services for Joseph L. Ridgeway, 79, of Oxford, will be today, June 18, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Bro. David Tankersley will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Arkadelphia Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on today from 2 - 4 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. The will be a second service on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Arkadelphia Church in Evergreen. Mr. Ridgeway passed away on Monday at his residence. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jeanne Ridgeway; daughter, Judy Egan; son, Jeff Ridgeway (Twila); siblings, L.C. Ridgeway, Frances Brazelton, Edward Ridgeway, Jo Ann Ridgeway; grandchildren, Charissa Lambert, Zack Murry, Rebecca Usrey (Chad), Samantha Gallaher (Clint), Shawn Ridgeway (Britney), Alex Ridge, Ryan Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Aiden Kilgore, Robie Usrey, and a host of nieces and nephews, along with numerous other self adopted children and grandchildren that called him Pop. Mr. Ridgeway was a native of Evergreen, Alabama and a resident of Oxford. He was retired from the U.S. Army and also retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Annie D. Ridgeway, sister, Mary Ridgeway, son, James Ridgeway; grandparents, I.S. and Sarah Ridgeway, Lawrence W. Carter and Drucilla Ellis.
