Melba Camp Hunt

Funeral service for Mrs. Melba Camp Hunt, 87, from the Pine Grove Community in Lineville, will be Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with the Rev. Braden Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hunt passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Lineville Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was a Randolph County native but had lived in Clay County since she was three years old. Mrs. Hunt had worked for Higgins Manufacturing for over 30 years and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She served for many years as a Pink Lady at the Clay County Hospital and as a volunteer for the Clay County Baptist Association. Mrs. Hunt is survived by one daughter, Robin Cox (Ricky) of Hoover; two sons, Jerry Hunt (Linda) of McDonough, Ga. and Jim Hunt of Ashland; two sisters, Katherine Owens of Covington, Ga. and Bonnie Smith (Monroe), of Norcross, Ga.; three brothers, Huel Camp, of Lineville, J.B. Camp (Shirley), of Anniston and Rex Camp of Goodwater; three grandchildren: Nic Hunt (Misty) of Alexander City, Natalie Cox of Homewood and Brian Cox (Emily) of Hoover and three-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Buchanan "Hanton" Camp and Anzie Lee Cockrell Camp; her husband of 51 years, Hubert Hunt; four sisters, Mildred Martin, Vernice Gunn, Maudine Cofield and Mary Francis Colburn; three brothers, Bayron Camp, Aubrey Camp and Lavelle Camp. Pallbearers will be Fred Amason, Victor Colburn, Johnny Denson, Mark Smith, Eric Smith and Carey Yates. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 5 - 8 p.m. and until service time on Thursday.
