Michael G. Merrell

Ranburne - Mr. Michael G. Merrell, 48, of Ranburne, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 07, 2013, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. He was born May 4, 1965 in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of Linda Stapler Merrell and the late Billy Merrell. He had worked as a service manager with John Thornton Chevrolet in Lithia Springs, Georgia and Bill Stanford Cadillac in Talladega, Alabama. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Tessy Baldwin Merrell and their children, Mason Merrell and Jayde Ellis, all of Ranburne; mother, Linda Merrell, of Carrollton; children, Ashley Merrell Bishop and husband Jamie, Anthony Merrell and Alex Merrell, and their mother, Lisa Revis Merrell, all of Carrollton; sister, Teresa Lambert and her husband, Daniel of Carrollton; brothers, Wayne Merrell and his wife, Sandy, of Bremen and Van Merrell, of Lineville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Shane Roberson and Dr. Doug New officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 8 p.m. Those serving as pallbearers will by David Baldwin, Roger Merrell, Donnie Fortson, Chris Kilgore, Ryan Arrington, and Robert Baldwin.
